![]() While Vegeta has been angsting about wanting to find his own path in life, which is great, relatable stuff, he's always been reasonably pragmatic when it comes to combat. By that logic, he might as well just abandon every other ki blast technique, every Super Saiyan form, since Goku did all of those first. Vegeta relentlessly trying to "go his own way" is all well and good, it's not exactly out-of-character, but it feels needlessly regressive for him to refuse to learn a useful move for no justifiable reason beyond "heh, I don't need anything you've got, Kakarot!" He's just making life more difficult for himself. Surely it makes more sense for Vegeta to understand that being able to do it solo will make him more independent from Goku? Vegeta always seems humiliated about having to grab hold of Goku's wrist or shoulder (no hand-holding!) whenever they have to teleport somewhere. Vegeta, supremely talented so-n-so he is, learns to get from Yardrat to Earth within a few minutes of instruction after mastering every other Spirit technique but arbitrarily decides he won't do it again even though he just showed he easily can. It's probably Goku's most practical technique, I mean, he can instantaneously move anywhere in the universe so long as he can detect a person's ki, as the name implies. ![]() ![]() Whichever way you look at it, teleportation is an insanely useful technique to have in any arsenal. ![]() Even more ironic, Vegeta seems to be aware of this.Back when I first joined this forum, this made me have a minor meltdown in the main manga thread which I'm not proud of (apologies again Marlowe, I was going through some stuff at the time, I guess), but even after simmering down considerably, I still see the whole scene of Vegeta abandoning IT as facepalm-inducing. This just proves that Vegeta's Saiyan pride is ridiculous and actually holding him back. It's just so ironic that Goku - who is the sole reason in Dragon Ball Super why Vegeta refuses to perform or learn certain moves - is forcing Vegeta to actually embrace those same techniques. Even though Vegeta announced upon teleporting from Yardrat to Earth that he would never use it again, Dragon Ball Super just presented a perfect opportunity for Vegeta to go back on his word and, once again, go against his infamous pride. Although Vegeta initially put off learning Instant Transmission for as long as possible, upon learning that Moro had already begun attacking Earth and was now battling against Goku, forced Vegeta to embrace it in chapter 60. It was still a massive deal that Vegeta went to the Yardrats to begin with even though he originally didn't intend on learning Instant Transmission just because he sought them out to help him learn a similar type of technique. Moreover, he viewed such a non-threatening move as nothing but " cheap parlor tricks." Goku originally learned from them to master Instant Transmission in DBZ, and because Goku could now wield this teleportation technique, Vegeta, of course, wanted nothing to do with it. Much earlier in Dragon Ball Super during the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Vegeta was forced to use the technique by falling under the tutelage of the Yardrats, a people who possess techniques he openly mocks to anyone who will or won't hear him. That's because of how much Vegeta despises the ability. While it's possible that Goku may defeat Gas during this time, another more appealing prospective outcome would be if Vegeta goes to help his frenemy by using Instant Transmission. As a result, both fighters are now stuck on this currently undisclosed planet so long as both of them are still alive. Now that Gas is aware that Goku can transport him to different places just by merely touching him, it's unlikely that the villain will allow his opponent to do so again. Related: Dragon Ball’s Greatest Fusion Hasn’t Happened Yet Having wanted to kill the Cerealian for so long but not being allowed to because of his brother, Gas immediately takes advantage of the situation and tries to strike during this opportune time, but Goku quickly reacts by grabbing hold of him and using Instant Transmission to teleport them off-planet. Everyone - including Goku who immediately takes over fighting Gas for Granolah - believed he died until the Namekian Monaito began healing him. In chapter 81, Gas' older brother and leader Elec shoots Granolah in the back when the Cerealian foolishly tries to kill him even though he was currently battling Gas.
